The Cotswold’s and the Malvern Hills are both within an hour’s drive of the DoubleTree by Hilton Stratford-upon-Avon, United Kingdom. The distance between Stratford-upon-Avon Railway Station and Junction 15 on the M40 is five minutes by car.
The food was excellent, good well cooked hearty breakfast is always welcome. I thought the room was well equipped, extremely comfortable and it was located within a gentle 15 minute walk of Stratford itself , theatre, bars and river trips.
DislikedThe chairs in the dining room were a little low for me to fit my legs comfortably under the table. I’m 6’1″ and therefore it’s a problem I come across a lot. It isn’t something that I can’t get around and to be fair that is the only thing that I didn’t like, but it’s not a complaint, just an observation of something I encounter a lot. It wouldn’t stop me coming back here but would only stop me from booking into a hotel in Lilliputt
Staff were very friendly and welcoming. I was apprehensive about taking our dogs, but the hotel is very dog-friendly and it was no problem at all. The hotel is spacious, clean and has very good air conditioning.
DislikedBreakfast is a buffet rather than cooked to order, though it is not bad. The hotel was short-staffed at times, so food was not always available.
Everything was as you would expect from the chain. The staff were helpful, the rooms were clean and the Air-con was effective. We got a good nights sleep. The location was ideal for a mooch around the town with plenty of bars & eateries along the way. If I was in the neighbourhood again I would be happy to stay here.
DislikedThe breakfast seemed to have been out for a long time when we arrived at 09:00. The cooked elements had certainly not been up to standard although edible. Maybe if it had been fresh I wouldn’t have had anything to dislike.
